UAE: Fujairah incidents expose pressure on the C-UAS layer of air defencenote

On 14/3/2026, the UAE media reported successful interceptions during an attack on the Port of Fujairah (PoF). The same reports indicated that the fire at the port occurred after debris fell during the interception of a drone, suggesting that the UAE’s air-defence network engaged the incoming threat even though fragments still caused damage at the facility.

However, the incident reported on 16/3/2026 at Al-Fujairah Petroleum Industries zone may point to a different operational challenge within the air-defence architecture. Media reports indicate that oil-loading operations at Fujairah were disrupted again after a drone attack triggered fires in the petroleum industrial zone.
